Remember when Hotmail was cool? I can vaguely remember the feature laden Hotmail of old. It was the way to go and everyone promptly went and signed up for an account. Nowadays, Hotmail is corporate swill and I don't think I am the only one to have gone through the pain of losing mail thanks to my junk mail box filling up with spam and therefore rendering my account useless. What was I to do now?

Gaming Heaven |

So after being somewhat annoyed at the complete and utter lack of both Star Ocean 3 AND Phantom Brave on Wednesday, I am now a very happy camper with both games securely in hand. My Phantom Brave even came complete with a snazzy soundtrack. Since I am a big fan of the soundtrack already, I was very happy indeed to actually own a copy. I also received a snazzy poster from EB for the purchase of Star Ocean 3. I attempted to run it by Dianne about putting it up in the home office but she wasn't too big on the idea. Therefore I believe I might use it to geek out my office decor. After all, there is a distinct lack of geekiness at my current office and who trusts a non-geek programmer?
In any case, I am just excited to get those games in my PS2 and get on with it. Sadly, I will most likely have to brave the "Disc Read Error" of doom for twenty times before either game will load, but hey, it's a small price to pay...

I Hate Flash... |

Ok, so that's not entirely true. What has me turned off of Flash this morning is the new 1up website. The entire thing is done in flash, and while I must admit it is very powerful Flash, the whole thing bogs down to no end. Just to use the game finder it makes my mp3 player skip (and I am on a fairly powerful machine). The whole idea behind their blogging and such is brilliant. It's such a great idea to bring the community together. And the amount of things you can do with your account (the storage space must be incredible) are astounding. But let's face it, if it takes me 3 minutes everytime I want to visit a new page, I am not going to stick around for long. Overall, kudos on an incredible idea and technically impressive solution, but please re-think your presentation. I can only imagine what the site must be like on a 56k modem...
I guess while I am at it, I might as well plug my own 1up blog (although I kind of sync my blog entries with this site, so sue me, I'm lazy...):
