Star Ocean 3 initial Impressions

Well, I have been hearing both negative and positive points in regards to Star Ocean 3. I don't tend to let that influence me though, I thoroughly enjoyed Star Ocean 2, and I know a heap load of people who thought it was utter trash...In any case, I fired up Star Ocean 3 and was greeted by two features right off the bat that make me want to kiss Tri-Ace. First off, the game supports 16 x 9 resolution. Now, this may not appeal to everyone, but for people like me who own a 57" widescreen HDTV, this is delicious candy. Also, the game supports Dolby Digital. Again, as the owner of a sweet little surround sound get-up, this is some serious icing on a very nice cake.

So, now that Star Ocean 3 is both looking and sounding fine, what do I think of the game? Well, I can already tell it is a masochist's dream. The thought of collecting all 300 battle trophies and finding 100% of every dungeon boggles my mind so badly, I refuse to think about it. The battles are a little annoying as per every review's reaction. Waiting for enemies to stand up results in quite a few cheap hits, but the free flying ability to go wherever and attack whatever is pretty fun. The story so far rocks. HARD. I am seriously enjoying it.

All in all, seems like a pretty sweet game, but I will see if it all holds up even after the 60+ hours it is likely to take me to finish it...

Tales of Symphonia Review

After playing through (60+ Hours!!) the entirety of the game and most of the side quests, I have officially finished working on Tales of Symphonia. It is only natural then that I have also completed my review of such. Check it out here:

How many Sony technicians does it take to make a decent product?

The answer? None! Sony seems to be incapable of distributing a decent piece of hardware, at least as far as the gaming side of things go. Don't get me wrong, I love my PS2 to death. Out of all my consoles, it gets the most play. Don't blame me, however, for being a bit bitter when it takes me about 5 or 6 times, every time I want to play a game, to get the stupid disc drive to read the DVD.

Just as good as I remember it. In fact, it's better!

Truly a force of argument for gaming as an art form, ICO is nothing short of astounding...

The beauty of this game cannot be put into words. That being said, the plot so far is somewhat lacking...

A very punny game starring the Dragon Quest series' lowest of the low beast - the Slime!

Eternal Sonata

Now this is what next generation RPGs should look like. Too bad the story sucks.
