Well, this weekend was rather nuts. Friday night, right after work, I rushed home, picked up the wife and off we went to a "required" class that we had to take in order to get married in a catholic church. It is a pre-marriage course that is required before they will marry us and constitutes a large part of the weekend.
So, all night friday (until 11:00'ish or so) and all day Saturday (8:45am until 6:45pm) we attended classes geared to making us a better, more religious married couple. While a few of the classes were surprisingly well put on, with very good public speakers, and I did learn a fair bit, quite a few of the classes were sleep inducing. Combined with the fact that we had to come home Friday night and even during lunch on Saturday to quickly clean up the house, and you have the makings for a grueling couple of days.
Why were we cleaning the house? Well because during an already insanely busy weekend, we had Dianne's bridal shower to put on as well! Therefore my mom came in from out of town and what ended up being a party of about 20 guests or so stopped by.
We ended up having a great time (I'll post some pics when I have a chance, but man I was tired the next day. The next day was not any calmer either. My mom was still in town so Dianne's parents took us all out to eat (Olive Garden, soooo good!) and then we ended up at my brother's place for dinner.
All in all a very exhausting weekend. I think I need a weekend from the weekend! Anyway, I did manage to get some work done on a little project I have been meaning to release for a while. It is not completely done yet, but the basics are in place. Basically it is a means for me to share all the video game wallpapers I have collected over the years. I don't know about you, but I enjoy frequently addorning my desktop (s) with cool pics from my favorite games.
It is still in need of some massive population, but there are a few up, so feel free to try er out you can also click on the "wallpapers" link on the right side to play around with the system. I will be refining it over the next couple of days, but have fun with it anyway.
Oooops, running late for work, have a great day all, hopefully I will blog at you soon!

Katamari Damacy |

First off, my apologies for the complete lack of blogging as of late. My usual blog time is in the wonderful hour between 7am and 8am every morning. I wake up with the wife at 6am, get ready, and then she leaves for work at around 7. Now, the time between 7 and 8 is completely my own. It is like the world stands still for one glorious hour and I am free to do whatever it is I please. Heh, its funny that when I was younger, this wasn't a 1 hour period, it was two months long and was called summer vacation. Oh well, I suppose that is the result of getting older.
In any case, this week I have discovered that this hour is pretty much the only time I have to finish some games I have on the go. I am one of those people who cannot read two books at once and therefore cannot play two RPGs at once. Since my stack of unfinished games is growing (Front Mission 4, .hack // Quarantine, Phantom Brave, Shadow Hearts 2 and Star Ocean 3) and the list of games I must have (Paper Mario 2, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Katamari Damacy, too many to mention) continues to grow, I figured it was about time I started going hard on the games I own.
I am currently in the middle of Star Ocean 3 and those of you who have read my previous blog posts or have played the game know that "Til the end of time" isn't a clever title, it is an estimate of how long this game will take to finish. I have a complete love/hate relationship going with this game. I love everything about it while I play, I don't want it to end. On the other hand, DAMN is it long. I am about 35 hours or so in and I know that I am not anywhere close to finishing.
Therefore, I have been spending my mornings hacking away at the game, blindly flailing away an hour at a time. Now, my only trap comes from the fact that generally I do not want to leave a game once I start playing. And Star Ocean 3 has a BRUTAL distinct lack of save points. Every day I am slightly worried that I am going to be hideously late for work (all the snow on the roads isn't helping matters), but so far so good.
So, you might be wondering why I have a picture of Katamari Damacy tacked onto this post when I don't even own the game (or perhaps you are wondering how a post about how I haven't posted in a while can span 4 paragraphs, the mind boggles). It is because I seem to have an insane fixation with the game. I have not played it (I can't find it for sale ANYWHERE!) but yet I am enjoying everything about it. As I sit here, I am listening the soundtrack at work (no strange stares from the neighbors, I have headphones on) with my dual monitors sporting the dual monitor wallpaper from the official site. A strange addiction indeed. Now if I could only purchase the game and somehow hook it up at work...

Another one bites the dust... |

This weekend has been rather productive for me as far as my web work goes. It is rare for me to even have the time to post a quick blog entry, let alone write even a single review. This weekend I managed to get through two entire reviews. Granted, were I not half torqued right now on a bottle of wine I may have made that 3, but that is completely beside the point.
Check out my review of Lufia: The Ruins of Lore. It's the review 2 years in the making!
Lufia: The Ruins of Lore Review
I don't think I truly realized how much I hated that game until I began writing. Once I started writing, the hate would not stop flowing. I pride myself on being a calm, collected sort of individual but this game has raised some deep down ire I had no idea existed. Actually this has been happening to me a lot lately, perhaps it is time to cut down on the coffee?
A couple random points. That is my cat, Tiger, currently adorning my desktop. No, he was not actually drunk, we were drinking cheap beer and wanted to post him on ratemykitten.com or some crap like that and we had some shades and an empty can of black label kicking around. What we ended up with was a priceless picture that, naturally, ratemykitten.com refused...
Also, it is snowing, that sucks.
